Department of Justice: Stories Over Stigma
The Department Of Justice works with several public and private stakeholders, most importantly families of victims, to address the false narrative that substance abuse is a choice. Families have broken this stigma by telling their loved one’s stories instead stating they died of unknown causes or complications. The Yebo creative team provided the social community a platform to further break the stigma by educating users and allowing them to tell their stories. This subject matter is highly sensitive and complex. The approach needed to be strong but simple. The team’s original thought was to provide users with Instagram filters. But knowing our client did not have a social footprint and such filters would easily get lost, I determined the varying copy templates needed to be presented in a step-by-step landing page. This afforded us to provide multiple user voices while giving our client a singular pulpit to provide help and education to those who needed it.
