Land O Lakes: Enviromental Farming

The original scope called for simple illustrations of different styles posted to social that depicted the extraordinary measures these LOL farms had gone to for environmental conservation. The creative concept quickly escalated to 4-6 frames of original artwork edited to video and sfx. That said, the budget never budged.

My Roll:

• I researched local artists with diverse illustration styles thru unconventional channels, negotiated rates, and orchestrated workflows.

• Worked with the Creative team to created a unique approach to each concept:

  • For the first artist, we set the Artist up in a room at the agency with an overhead camera for 6 sessions of 4 hrs each. The camera was set to fire every .15 sec.

  • The second Artist was a water colorist who wasn’t technologically savvy so we approved the black and white stages via fax and had her scan the final. We kept the black and white stages and manipulated the alpha channel in the edit to create the color transitions from the finals.

  • The final Artist mimicked wood cut style. We were able isolate aspects of the illustration and animate them separately.

  • As before, I oversaw all the post production through final delivery.
